Black Swan Event Financial Planning is a boutique financial planning business that aims to help you Preserve, Protect and Grow your wealth. We are authorised representatives of Paragem Pty Ltd who hold AFS Licence 297276, issued by ASIC.

Both Paragem and ourselves are free of any direct or indirect ownership link to any financial institution or product provider.

Our Name

A "Black Swan Event" is some happening or event which has been totally unanticipated. The origin of the term goes back to Europe in the 1700's. Then, the saying "that's as likely as a black swan" was used to put down some argument that was considered to be impossible (all swans were thought to be white).

Then, they came to Australia - and there were "black swans everywhere". The message is:

The unexpected can happen. In our world, examples include sudden market crashes or the situation where the bread winner who was in perfect health drops dead from a heart attack. And many more.

In our work with clients we design, implement and review strategies to help them Preserve, Protect and Grow their wealth - always mindful that "Black Swan Events" can happen.

The Principal of Black Swan Event Financial Planning is John Cameron, who is one of the most experienced Financial Planners in the country.

In our day to day activities, we help people meet their financial goals by using a range of financial products, most of which are also available to other financial planners. However, our long industry experience and extensive industry knowledge enables us to apply additional insights to product selection, implementation and strategy.

Our relationship with clients is ongoing over the short, medium and long term. We continue to look over their shoulders as life stages, markets, legislation, needs and circumstances change and provide appropriate advice and solutions (provided they want ongoing service).

We will always "tell it like we see it". We won't claim to always get it right, but we will always give our honest opinion.
